Ievoli Blue - the first AHTS for new Italian owners launched at Northern Shipyard

March 17, 2009, saw the launching of the first ship being built at REMONTOWA Group's Northern Shipyard (Stocznia Północna SA) for Italian owner Marnavi Offshore S.p.A. (Marnavi S.p.A.) based in Naples. The ship, built under yard no. B 844/9, named Ievoli Blue, is yet another unit from the long, successful series of AHTS vessels, in-house designed by REMONTOWA Group's companies (mainly Naval Engineering & Design - NED) and ship design office (NED 8167 L design). The ship has been designed and is being built according to the rules and under supervision of ABS and RINA.



The 70.00 m long, 15.50 m wide offshore support vessel will feature over 120 T bollard pull and service speed of 15 knots. Marnavi S.p.A. is a shipping company operating on the world chemical product and food stuff transportation market. An offshore and ecological market are also among its activities. The company was established in 1910 by Dominico Ievoli, the grandfather of the current president. The company owns 27 ships with a total capacity of some 180,000 dwt, 12 of which are petrol-chemical tankers, ranging between 3,700 and 26,500 dwt; 8 ships for transporting food produce, oil, water and wine which serve the Italian island communities; 3 Anchor Handling Tugs and 4 recoil vessels. Additionally the company manages petrol-chemical ships in accordance with long-term time-charter contracts with Scandinavian and European shipowners, and one time-charter ship with Japanese shipowners.



The Company is managed by its president and chief shareholder Domenico Ievoli in close cooperation with his two sons and vice presidents Attilio and Gennaro. Marnavi S.p.A. is the second shipowner after Tidewater Marine Ltd. (from New Orlean, USA), who is particularly interested in this product of the REMONTOWA Group. There are 21 ships of this kind in the shipyard’s current orderbook, in total. Two of them are being built at Northern Shipyard for the Italian shipowner. Delivery of Ievoli Blue is scheduled in the 3rd quarter of 2009. The next unit of the same type under yard no. B 844/10 will be slipped into the water within the next two months.
