Second LNG-fuelled ferry launched at Northern Shipyard

On July 15, 2009 the hull of the second unit of the B 607 type double-ended fjord ferry slipped into the water at Northern Shipyard (Stocznia Polnocna SA), member of REMONTOWA Group. The launch of the first ship of the same type took place at the same yard on February 27, 2009.

The car and passenger ferry Fannefjord (yard no. B 607/2), being built at Northern Shipyard to order from Gdanska Stocznia "Remontowa" SA for Norwegian owners Fjord1 MRF AS, is the second unit in a series of four on order. The series represents the first Polish built LNG fuelled ferries, conforming to the most stringent environmental rules and requirements.
The ships, measuring 122.70 m in length, with diesel-gas-electric propulsion, will be able to carry 390 passengers and 125 personal cars.
