Versatile LNG/LEG/LPG carrier wins another "Golden Anchor" for Remontowa

This year the Jury of prestigious major accolade of Polish Chamber of Commerce decided on awarding two companies - one in services sector and one in products competition. The latter was won during International Maritime Trade Fair Baltexpo 2009, ending on September 3, by Remontowa SA for its LNG carrier built at Gdansk based Northern Shipyard (REMONTOWA Group) for Dutch owners.

The ship with 7500 cbm cargo capacity is the first Polish built LNG carrier and the world's first such flexible gas tanker, being able to carry liquid natural, ethylene, petroleum and other gases. The ship also features environmentally friendly operation as it is propelled by LNG fuelled main propulsion engines in gas-diesel-electric propulsion. Further information on the ship is available on this page.
This year's "Golden Anchor" awarded to Remontowa is not its first such achievement. For example during Baltexpo 2007, "Golden Anchor" prize was awarded to REMONTOWA Group for a series of evacuation vessels for Agip KCO operating within the Caspian offshore industry.
