Safe Esbjerg ahead of time…

A mobile offshore unit - accommodation / service platform Safe Esbjerg departed from Gdansk Shiprepair Yard Remontowa SA five days ahead of time, after being serviced at the Yard.
The platform, over 60 m in height, with legs of 104 m, was berthed at Remontowa quay on February 22, 2010. Safe Esbjerg is owned by Prosafe - the world's leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation/service rigs.
Safe Esbjerg visited the shipyard for class renewal and some steel renewal work.
This work engaged about 400 of Remontowa personnel.

- Since the platform is 35 years old, there was a lot to do – says the project manager Lucjan Falkiewicz. – It was a great task for us. We exchanged nearly 200 tons of steel and did some renovation and painting work on the hull and ballast tanks. Our mutual cooperation with representatives of the Owner ran perfectly well. We had gained a lot of experience during extensive maintenance works, repairs and minor upgrading / conversion of the drilling rig ENSCO 100, which had visited the shipyard prior to Safe Esbjerg – says the manager.
This was the sixth mobile offshore unit (platform) serviced at Remontowa so far (there have been semi-submersible drilling rigs and floatels among them) and the second jack-up type unit after the self-elevating drilling rig ENSCO 100 mentioned above.
