Express damage repairs reduce downtime

Thanks to fast action of Remontowa, just 18 hours had to be taken out of tight feeder service ship schedule, even though the emergency repairs called for ship docking.
German owned, 12 years old containership Deneb, deployed in Hamburg-Gdynia-Gdańsk feeder loop, had its tunnel thruster propeller damaged during passage through Kiel Canal (Nord-Ost See Kanal). In Gdańsk, Deneb berths at Gdansk Container Terminal (GTK) nearby Remontowa SA, where it was directed for repairs. The ship entered the yard at 22:50 and left it at 17:35 the next day. It took just 18 hours for Remontowa, to replace the damaged bow thruster propeller, supplied by owner, of which most time was consumed by docking and undocking procedures. On the occasion of docking for thruster replacement, also the survey of underwater part of the vessel was performed.
